Preparing for ISEE

Juicy Burgers on Portobello Mushroom“Buns”with Parsnip Fries

Lauren HaasCaramelized Onions:

1 tablespoon organic, extra virgin coconut oil
1 large red onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
½ cup organic chicken brothHeat oil in a pan at a medium heat and add the onions.
Sautee onions for 2 minutes, add minced garlic and the sweetener.
Cook for 2-3 minutes then reduce the flame to a LOW heat.
Stir in the chicken broth.
Let simmer for 15 minutes or until the onions are soft and caramelized.
Slice the bell peppers and onions.
In pan, at a medium flame, heat the olive oil for about 1 minute.
Add the bell peppers and onions, brown sugar, salt and honey.
Stir. Cook for 3 minutes.
Reduce the heat to a LOW flame, for 2 minutes.
Add the chicken broth, stir everything and put a lid on the pan.
Let it simmer for 30 minutes or until the veggies are SOFT and Gooey….Slice the bell peppers and onions.

Dads Initiating Conversation about Puberty

This year I want to suggest an unconventional way you can show your love to your children that will change their lives forever. My suggestion is to take time along the way to guide them through the many changes they are going to experience as puberty approaches, and later initiate discussions that will help them make healthy choices as they sexually mature.
